STEP 1 · PICK A LANE
Six ways in. Switch anytime.
None of them require you to be an expert, a morning person, or an extrovert. Start where you're comfortable. Stay where you're useful.
01
Talk to people
Tabling at markets, door-knocking, phone and text banks. You get a script and a buddy.
Good for: the curious, the chatty, the persuasive.
04
Show up
Rallies, demonstrations, Vote Early events. Hold a sign, help set up, or learn to be a safety marshal.
Good for: first-timers. Seriously, this is the easiest door in.
02
Make stuff
Graphics, short-form video, photos, signs, zines. Your feed is already a megaphone. Point it somewhere.
Good for: creators, designers, editors, meme people.
05
Organize
Join a task force like Take a Stand, Make a Plan. Research, meetings with local leaders, turning outrage into actual policy.
Good for: planners, policy nerds, long-game people.
03
Feed people
Cook, serve, and share free meals with Food Not Bombs. Solidarity, not charity, one plate at a time.
Good for: anyone with two hands and a heart for community.
06
Backstage
Rides, setup and teardown, sign-in tables, spreadsheets. The work that makes the work work.
Good for: introverts, fixers, the quietly competent.
STEP 2 · PICK YOUR PEOPLE
Find your crew.
INCO works alongside other North Coast groups doing the work. Sign up once and we'll connect you with whoever fits your lane.
HOME BASE
Indivisible North Coast Oregon
Our local Indivisible chapter for Astoria and Clatsop County. Rallies, voter work, the Take a Stand, Make a Plan task force, and a lot of people who refuse to sit this one out.
Lanes: talk · make · show up · organize · backstage
MUTUAL AID
Food Not Bombs
Volunteers cook and share free vegetarian meals with anyone who's hungry, as a protest against war and poverty. Solidarity, not charity.

Lanes: yours to name
-
Good. Most of us hadn’t either. Every lane has a first-timer path, and you’ll learn by doing it alongside people who’ve done it before.
-
As much or as little as you’ve got. One hour counts. Sign up for one thing, see how it feels, and decide from there.
-
A real person from INCO reaches out to match you with a lane and an upcoming shift. That’s it. No spam, no pressure.
-
Valid. Make Stuff, Organize, and Backstage happen nowhere near a crowd. And if you do come to an action, our events are peaceful and you can step away anytime.
-
No. Volunteering costs nothing and there’s no membership to buy. Just show up as you are.
-
No party card required. We’re here to protect democracy and look out for our neighbors. If that matters to you, you belong here.
STEP 3 · SAY YES
Democracy is a group project.
1. Fill this out. Sixty seconds, tops.
2. A real human from INCO reaches out.
3. Show up once. Bring a friend if you want.
Your info is only used to connect you with volunteer opportunities.
