Take a Stand, Make a Plan Task Force
We are a task force within Indivisible North Coast Oregon (INCO) focused on strengthening Clatsop County’s response to possible future actions by the Department of Homeland Security. Across the nation and here in Clatsop County, DHS agencies ICE and CBP are violently pulling people from our streets in the guise of removing criminal illegal immigrants. They are tearing apart families, instilling fear in neighborhoods, disrupting local businesses, and denying the people they harass their due process under the law.
Business, Faith Communities and Government
The task force is divided into three groups focused on local government, faith communities and local businesses. We’re asking those sectors to take a stand by publicly stating their opposition to both the egregious actions of federal immigration agents and the creation of detention facilities for immigrants in our communities.
We also ask them to Make a Plan to prepare and respond if federal agents do come into our communities and by their actions violate the Oregon State Constitution and the US Constitution.

Upcoming Events
On Thursday, August 13, 2026, from 6:00-7:30 p.m., the
local Indivisible North Coast Oregon Faith Community will
meet in our sanctuary (Seaside Calvary Episcopal Church).
Their core theme is: Through faith in action, we will
work together to uplift the vulnerable and promote safe and
thriving communities for our immigrant neighbors.
The purpose of the INCO Faith Gathering is to discuss how
they can get North Coast faith communities more engaged
in active solidarity with our immigrant neighbors. Their
goals are to continue to build connections to ourselves and
to one another; determine actions to take to build a more
engaged faith base on the coast; commit to at least one
concrete next step they can take to help build a stronger
North Coast faith base for immigrant justice; and feel
motivated and supported in taking action.
The key messages of the INCO Faith Gathering are
All of our neighbors have God given dignity and worth.
We call for humane and dignifying treatment of people,
especially children, at every stage of the immigration
process.
The end to the criminalization of immigrants and
mandatory detention that are unethical and
unconstitutional and harming children, families and
individuals.
Pathways to permanency and stability for families and
people whose home has been this country and wish to
have permanent status.
If you would like to know more about how faith can guide
and sustain us, as we resist the current practices of this
administration, and work for “a more perfect union”,
you are welcome to attend and share your thoughts and
ideas. You do not have to have a specific faith or be a part
of a church or denomination to learn more about “Take a
Stand, Make a Plan”.
