Take a Stand, Make a Plan Task Force
We are a group of volunteers within Indivisible North Coast Oregon (INCO) focusing on strengthening the North Coast of Oregon’s response to possible future actions by the Department of Homeland Security. Across the nation and here in Clatsop county, DHS agencies ICE and CBP are violently pulling people from our streets in the guise of removing criminal illegal immigrants. They are tearing apart families, instilling fear in neighborhoods, disrupting local businesses, and denying the people they harass their due process under the law.
Business, Faith Communities and Government
The task force is divided into three groups focused on local government, faith communities and local businesses. We’re asking those sectors to take a stand by publicly stating their opposition to both the egregious actions of federal immigration agents and the creation of detention facilities for immigrants in our communities.
We also ask them to Make a Plan to prepare and respond if federal agents do come into our communities and by their actions violate the Oregon State Constitution and the US Constitution.
