Thriftmas
December 20 & 21
11:00 to 4:00
The Brugh Building, Astoria
INCO is partnering with Astoria Harvest to create a Thriftmas event on December 20-21 that is a free, no-cost, and no-barrier items for community members in need, so that everyone can experience the magic of holidays and community support without financial barriers.
Thriftmas is the practice of participating in the holidays by buying all things - or most - at thrift stores and secondhand shops. In addition to eschewing national retailers and buying local, it's a growing trend that's transforming how people approach holiday gift-giving.
There are three ways you can participate:
DONATE NEARLY-NEW ITEMS
Do you have any nearly-new items to donate? The video game your aunt gave you, that Santa apron and you don’t cook, your daughter’s 2nd Venus Williams Barbie she got at her birthday party? They’re all perfect items to donate to Thriftmas.
Contact us at info@incoregon.org and we'll work with you to set a time and place to drop off.
VOLUNTEER TO HELP
We need people to help sort and manage the items and staff the sales event. Go to http://astoriaharvest.org/help-out.
ATTEND THE THRIFTMAS EVENT
Come to the Brugh Building, 1162 Marine Dr, Astoria, on Saturday or Sunday, December 20 and 21 from 11:00am to 4:00pm.

ICE Has No Business Here PROTESTS
In Solidarity with Newport in their efforts to prevent an ICE facility to be located in their vicinity, Lincoln County, other Indivisible groups and community partners are gathering to protest this on Saturday, December 13.
Neither ICE nor DOJ are communicating with local and state elected leaders or law enforcement about their plans, and we the people must push back against this ICE encroachment on our coast.
PLEASE ATTEND
• if you object to violations of due process by ICE
• if you object to having an ICE detention camp established on the Oregon Coast, including one apparently being planned for Newport. See below for more info about ICE in Newport.
• if you want to make a public statement that you will not support vendors, businesses, and merchants who support the establishment of a detention center on the coast.
• if you understand the danger of conceding in advance, and if you choose acts of non-violent resistance over despair and anxiety.

Boycott Spotify
Spotify is running ads recruiting agents for ICE, the federal agency charged with mass deportation and surveillance of immigrant communities. These ads target vulnerable populations, promise signing bonuses, and normalize fear and intimidation in our neighborhoods.
Spotify claims these ads comply with their policy, but the truth is streaming hate is not neutral. It’s a choice.
We refuse to fund it. We refuse to ignore it.
Cancel your Spotify subscription TODAY until the ICE ads are removed.
Wellness Salons
Feeling worn down and traumatized by the actions of the current regime? You're not alone – many of us feel that way.
INCO and North Coast Action are working together to explore options for no-cost and low-cost Wellness Salons. These salons will offer ways to rejuvenate and stay the course. We envision a menu of diverse wellness options, available at various locations over one or two weekend days in January 2026.
We are seeking volunteer wellness service providers who can offer any service that helps people ground themselves. If you have expertise you are willing to share, please take a few minutes to complete this form.
Your contribution makes a difference!

Experience welcome but not necessary.. An ability to write , a willingness to learn, and to be diligent when on task. A lot of this work can be urgent.

INCO places a very high value on the safety of everyone who participates in any of our activities.
We have a dedicated team who provide training to our volunteers and planning for our events. Each community meeting includes a safety training segment.
We have excellent training materials from national organizations, as well as our own local experts who know how to make these trainings fun!
Being part of the Safety Team does not commit you to attending every event.
The more people who receive this training, the better off we all are.

USE YOUR VOICE
5 Calls is the easiest and most effective way for U.S. constituents to make a political impact.
Find your representative — they won't know what you want if you don't tell them.
Tell Congress and state officials to stop the Trump-Republican authoritarian takeover. If successful, they will unravel our government, endanger our safety and security, and steal our money.
Senator Ron Wyden 202-224-5244 or 503-326-7525
Senator Jeff Merkley 202-224- 3753 or 503-326-3386
Representative Suzanne Bonamici 202-225-0855 or 503-469-6010
Governor Tina Kotek 503-378-4582
Oregon Attorney General Dan Rayfield 503-378-4400
Tips for an effective call:
It’s usually best to focus on one topic per call — especially if you want the official to take specific action. Tell how the Trump-GOP actions are affecting you, your family, and community. Use your own words.
Thank the official/staff if you like what they're doing.
Give your name and zip code so they know you're a constituent. Ask for a written response with the official’s position on the issue.
Call or email as often as you can during the week (even daily). Choose one topic per call.
