Donate Nearly-New items for Thriftmas

INCO is partnering with Astoria Harvest to create a Thriftmas event that is a free, no-cost, and no-barrier items for community members in need, so that everyone can experience the magic of holidays and community support without financial barriers.

Do you have any nearly-new stuff to donate? That toy your toddler never played with, a sweater that just didn't fit right or the bestseller you're not gonna read - they're all perfect for donation to Thriftmas!

Contact us at info@incoregon.org and we'll work with you to set a time and place to drop off.

Thriftmas is the practice of participating in the holidays by buying all things - or most -  at thrift stores and secondhand shops. In addition to eschewing national retailers and buying local, it's a growing trend that's transforming how people approach holiday gift-giving,

Volunteer with Indivisible

As Indivisible North Coast Oregon (INCO) grows we find ourselves in need of more people power and skills to allow us to leverage our collective commitment in stopping the coup and building a foundation for what’s to come next.

Join us in something vitally important working with other dedicated people and building regional networks. We can use your help.

Needed Positions

  • We could use people to document INCO events in photographs or videos so we can post them on the website, on social media and in the newsletter.

Do you have an eye for the job and tools (like a smartphone)? Please fill out the Volunteer form and let us know.

  • Work with the INCO Communications team in producing media advisories, press conference materials, and other news media outlets.

In addition to producing media releases and press conferences the communications team maintains the website; produces social media content; creates flyers and posters, and ensures the weekly newsletter creation.

Hours vary with whatever events are coming up and emerging local and national situations.

Experience welcome but not necessary.. An ability to write , a willingness to learn, and to be diligent when on task. A lot of this work can be urgent.

    Contact info@incoregon.org

  • INCO places a very high value on the safety of everyone who participates in any of our activities.

We have a dedicated team who provide training to our volunteers and planning for our events. Each community meeting includes a safety training segment.

We have excellent training materials from national organizations, as well as our own local experts who know how to make these trainings fun!

Being part of the Safety Team does not commit you to attending every event.

The more people who receive this training, the better off we all are.

  • It takes a lot of people to put on our events. We are creating of list of people who what to help out occasionally but not commit to ongoing things.

Everyone is needed in some capacity!

  • Do you have special skills or interests you would like to offer?

  • INCO welcomes your donations of any amount. Keeping up with getting information out to you and putting on events, rallies, and protests costs money from printing costs to webpage and tech maintenance to venue rental.

    Thank you.

10 THINGS YOU CAN DO TO PROTECT OUR ELECTIONS

An article by Marc Elias on DemocracyDocket.com

USE YOUR VOICE

5 Calls is the easiest and most effective way for U.S. constituents to make a political impact.

Find your representative — they won't know what you want if you don't tell them.

Tell Congress and state officials to stop the Trump-Republican authoritarian takeover. If successful, they will unravel our government, endanger our safety and security, and steal our money.

Senator Ron Wyden    202-224-5244 or 503-326-7525

Senator Jeff Merkley    202-224- 3753 or 503-326-3386

Representative Suzanne Bonamici    202-225-0855 or 503-469-6010

Governor Tina Kotek    503-378-4582

Oregon Attorney General Dan Rayfield    503-378-4400

Tips for an effective call:

  1. It’s usually best to focus on one topic per call — especially if you want the official to take specific action. Tell how the Trump-GOP actions are affecting you, your family, and community. Use your own words.

  2. Thank the official/staff if you like what they're doing.

  3. Give your name and zip code so they know you're a constituent. Ask for a written response with the official’s position on the issue.

  4. Call or email as often as you can during the week (even daily). Choose one topic per call.
