It’S Going To Take All of us

Each of us can make a difference, so do what you can, and perhaps even stretch to do something you didn’t know you could do.

Everyone has their first time attending a protest or displaying a yard sign or testifying to the state legislature. What’s your first time?

If activism isn’t new to you, then share your experience and wisdom with others.

CIVIC ENGAGEMENT

  • VOTE

  • Join a local protest

  • Support a candidate or other campaign with work, money, or a yard sign

  • Run for office

  • Volunteer with INCO! Or other democracy groups.

10 THINGS YOU CAN DO TO PROTECT OUR ELECTIONS

(article by Marc Elias on DemocracyDocket.com)

USE YOUR VOICE

5 Calls is the easiest and most effective way for U.S. constituents to make a political impact.

Find your representative

They won't know what you want if you don't tell them.

Tell Congress and state officials to stop the Trump-Musk-Republican authoritarian takeover. If successful, they will unravel our government, endanger our safety and security, and steal our money.

Senator Ron Wyden         202-224-5244 or 503-326-7525

 Senator Jeff Merkley        202-224- 3753 or 503-326-3386

Representative Suzanne Bonamici   202-225-0855 or 503-469-6010

 Governor Tina Kotek        503-378-4582

Oregon Attorney General Dan Rayfield       503-378-4400

1. It’s usually best to talk about only one topic each call, especially if you want the official to take specific action. Tell how the Trump-Musk-GOP actions are affecting you, your family, and community. It's best to use your own words.

2. Thank the official and staff if you like what they're doing.

3. Give your name and zip code so they know you're a constituent. Ask for a written response with the official’s position on the issue.

4. Call or email daily or as often as you can during the week, about a different topic each time.
